In a long, and interesting speech, [former President Bill Clinton] characterized what the U.S. and other industrialized nations need to do to combat global warming this way: “We just have to slow down our economy and cut back our greenhouse gas emissions ’cause we have to save the planet for our grandchildren.”
Right now, on the teetering edge of a recession, with the housing bubble bursting, with the U.S. government and our private-sector financial institutions like Citigroup indebted to other nations to the tune of trillions of dollars, Bill Clinton thinks it’s a good idea to slow down our economy? Nothing like speeding up our slide toward socialism and one-world-government.
Thanks, but no thanks, Bill.
