As we have noted in the past, one of the basic tenets of a tyrannical regime is to control the media, because when you control the media, you control public perception. We have also cautioned that one of the first things to happen in an Obama administration will be the muzzling of dissent.

New evidence has come to light that shows that the Obama administration — and by default the Democrat party — will not need to exert much, if any, force upon the media to gain their cooperation. Why? Because the news media is already biased in their favor.

While there have been research and reports in the past, such as this one from UCLA, that detail and quantify media bias, nothing has been as shocking as this video. According to his website, filmmaker John Ziegler interviewed 12 Obama supporters immediately after they voted. Here is the video of those interviews, which is a teaser for Ziegler’s upcoming film ”Media Malpractice… How Obama Got Elected”:

The sample size is small, and it is entirely possible to just pick twelve rubes from a few hundred interviewees and show only the uninformed. The video alone is not damning. What is damning, is the results of a post-election Zogby poll along the same lines. A telephone poll of 512 Obama supporters nationwide showed striking similarities to Ziegler’s video. Some of the results:

• 17% correctly answered that Barack Obama had won his first election by getting all of his opponents removed from the ballot
• 12% correctly associated Barack Obama with his statement that his energy policies would likely bankrupt the coal industry
• 44% knew that Barack Obama started his political career at the home of two former members of the homeland terrorist organization the Weather Underground
• 28% knew that Joe Biden had to quit a previous campaign for President because he was found to have plagiarized a speech

On the flip side of the coin:

• 86% correctly identified Sarah Palin as the candidate whose party purchased her a $150,000 wardrobe
• 81% identified John McCain as the candidate who was unable to recall the number of houses he owned
• 94% correctly identified Sarah Palin as the candidate with a pregnant teenage daughter
• 87% chose Sarah Palin as the candidate who said they could “see Russia from their house,” even though it was Saturday Night Live’s Tina Fey — portraying Sarah Palin — who said it

While no media outlet is without some form of bias, the numbers are so skewed in favor of the Democrat party that it is clear the the mainstream media is not only biased, not only are they are shirking their responsibility to the public to inform the public as completely as possible, they are “in the tank” for the Democrat party and the upcoming Obama administration. Chris Matthews of MSNBC even went so far as to say his “job” is to ensure Obama is a success.

An informed electorate is essential to the survival of liberty and our Republic. The media is not doing their job. The teachers are not doing their jobs, either. Patriotism is considered “controversial.” Our children are being indoctrinated and we are being fed lies and manipulation in the TV we watch and the newspapers and magazines we read. Is all lost?

No.
