…the media found out about Abu Ghraib, and they kept exclaiming what an atrocity it was and how the Bush administration was just pure evil for allowing it to happen? Notice their silence now that Taliban rape tapes are discovered, showing a “Muslim Abu Ghraib”.
…the media made a big stink about the Bush administration’s “warrantless wiretaps” between a phone call between someone in the U.S. and a known terrorist outside the U.S.? Remember how they never shut up about how the evil Bush administration wanted to spy on innocent Americans without due process and was disregarding our protections under the 4th Amendment? Notice their silence as the Obama administration says that Americans enjoy “no reasonable expectation of privacy” in their cellphone records, including their location based on cell tower records. The Obama administration’s Department of Justice lawyers say that “a customer’s Fourth Amendment rights are not violated when the phone company reveals to the government its own records” that show where a mobile device placed and received calls.
…the media made a big stink about the bonuses paid to AIG employees, bonuses that were guaranteed by contract prior to AIG accepting the bailout money? Notice their silence as Obama says he “doesn’t begrudge” the $17 million bonus awarded to JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon, or the $9 million issued to Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein.
…the media wouldn’t shut up about President Bush’s declining approval poll numbers? It seemed like not a day went by that they didn’t yap about it. Notice their silence now that Obama’s approval rating has dropped to its lowest point, and the majority of Americans don’t believe Obama deserves a second term, after only shortly more than a year in office.
Pearls before swine
It comes to our attention that the swine flu was a big to-do about nothing. As with everything in life, there is truth in numbers: according to the CDC’s own numbers, only 0.02% of the swine flu cases were fatal. Some may credit the Obama administration and Health & Human Services Secretary kathleen Sebelius for getting the swine flu vaccine out to everyone, but since the vaccine wasn’t available until after the number of infections had already peaked and begun to recede… we find the whole thing a case of manufactured hysteria.
Where are the jobs?
That’s the question on the lips of many Americans. For example, remember how there was supposed to be all these “green jobs” weatherizing homes? Remember how $5 billion of the “stimulus” was supposed to create 87,000 jobs and winterize 593,000 homes? Well, it seems only 9,100 homes had been weatherized as of December 31st, at a cost of $57,362 each. Other “stimulus” funds are slated to go to programs that Obama has slashed from his own budget.
So we ask again: where are the jobs?
While the White House brass are split on stats from the “stimulus”, a record number of Americans are on foodstamps, there’s a rising tide of foreclosures and homeless, the jobless rate is going up not down, and analysts say the jobs bill won’t add many jobs, Obama has the audacity to defend the “stimulus” as beneficial, and says that it rescued the economy. Um, what?!
Now in the midst of all this dour news about people out of work, Obama says he’s “agnostic” about raising taxes on households making less than $250,000. Which is to say, he’s “voting present” again: if the House and Senate pass a bill that raises taxes on middle America, “agnostic” Obama will sign it and say “it’s not my fault… blame Congress.”
Seeing as how a new report that came out says that only 6% of Americans believe that the pork-filled “stimulus” actually created any jobs, we think America is slowly starting to realize the lies we’ve been sold about “bailouts” and “stimulus”. We’re willing to bet it has something to do with Obama’s approval numbers, too.
Al Gore is still in hiding. Or maybe he’s buried under the latest waves of “global warming” that have been hammering the eastern United States with more snow. Either way, we have collected the following headlines for your perusal, enlightenment, and enjoyment:
