We took our time waiting for the events of the oil spill to unfold. After all, plugging a leak at 5000 feet under the ocean is no easy task, and we didn’t want to blame Obama too much for his lack of response before we had enough facts to make an educated assessment of his handling of the situation. Oh sure, we posted a video timeline about the spill that showed how many times he went golfing and partying, but that was about it. But now that the facts are trickling in, we’re ready to render our assessment: he’s not bungling the cleanup effort… he’s intentionally foiling it. That’s right: Obama wants, nay, needs there to be oil-soaked beaches and dead oil-covered animals. Rush Limbaugh said that earlier this week, and we initially were a bit skeptical, but Rush was right yet again.

How do we know? Well, Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal asked almost a month ago for federal permission to build barrier sandbars off the coast of Louisiana to help prevent the oil from reaching shore. The federal government (meaning Obama) did nothing toward approving his request. Fed up with their inaction, he went ahead and ordered the Louisiana National Guard to go ahead and build the man-made reef, Obama be damned. On Thursday, the Coast Guard moved in and told sixteen oil-sucking barges to stop operations off the Louisiana coast. That’s right: the Coast Guard told them to stop cleaning up the oil spill.

Why? Well, let’s look at the facts: The barges were ordered there on June 11th by Governor Jindal. The barges were doing a good job in cleaning up the oil slick mess. The Coast Guard is under command of the Secretary of Homeland Security (Janet Napolitano) who takes orders from the President (Barack Hussein Obama). Governor Jindal, tired of waiting for the bureaucratic mess to be ironed out regarding the barrier sandbars, took charge and went ahead and did what needed to be done without waiting for permission from the nannies in the federal government.

To us, this looks pretty clear-cut. The federal government under Obama’s direction is sending a message: you either do it our way, or there will be consequences.

As to why they would want to curtail the cleanup effort? They need a crisis — a big crisis — for Obama to come in and appear presidential, while at the same time moving forward with their agenda. (For more on who “they” is, see our piece on Tacticians and Strategists. For proof we’re right about Tacticians and Strategists, after reading that piece we wrote, read this article in the Wall Street Journal.)

This marks a growing trend happening across the United States: the rise of the states. We’ve been watching this develop, and we’ve been working on an in-depth article about it for a few months now. Watch for it soon.

It’s not about cookouts, though that’s what we do.

It’s not about parties, though that’s what people have.

It’s not about trips to visit friends and relatives, though that’s what many people take.

It’s not about a day off of work, though many people aren’t working today.

It is about honoring those who have perished serving their nation. It is about honor. Courage. Sacrifice. It is about commitment to country, and to comrades-in-arms.

While Barack Obama skips the annual ceremony at Arlington National Cemetary and sends Vice President Biden instead so he can go home to Chicago for a long weekend to go a cookout and take the day off of work, do what Obama isn’t doing this day: remember those who have fallen in service to this great nation. Remember the true meaning of Memorial Day.

To quote Rush Limbaugh, the purpose of the military is to kill people and break things. That is how wars are won. That is how peace is preserved. And when it comes to killing people and breaking things, the United States has the best military in the whole world. Just the threat of U.S. military intervention is enough to make some people sit down and stop rattling their sabers. For 235 years, our military — starting with the states’ militias actions against the British on April 19th, 1775 — have been kicking ass and taking names in the war of liberty over tyranny. Countless Americans have faced overwhelming odds in their duty to their country; many received medals for their heroism and valor, and some perished in their actions.

Imagine, then, my amazement that the Obama military is now talking about a medal for “courageous restraint”. In other words, the Bad Guys are shooting at you from the middle of a crowd of civilians (as the cowardly terrorists tend to do) and you decide to excercise “courageous restraint” and not return fire because some civilians might get hurt.

Pardon my language, but what horseshit.

When the Bad Guys realize that they can hide among civilians and kill our troops without the threat of return fire, they’ll do it more. They’ll kill more U.S. troops. The civilians won’t feel the need to stand up against the Bad Guys because there are few civilian casualties, and the Bad Guys seem to be winning. Let’s face it: the civilian population just wants peace, so they’ll side with whoever seems like they’re going to win. Don’t want to be seen as siding with the losers… in that part of the world, that’s how tongues are cut out and your children are killed or raped with you watching on. So our intelligence information about Bad Guys dries up because the civilians think that we’re going to lose anyway. With less intel, our job of winning gets harder. We become less able to kill people and break things.

But then again, wimpifying the U.S. military is Obama’s objective, isn’t it? Why yes, it is. And as FiveBoxes reported int he past, it’s always been.
